Alright - full disclosure (we are friends after all, right?) I’m attempting to write this in a Feastbound induced daze. Oh - so what? You ate some food, and you drank some beer. Some food? Some beer? No. No. I - no - we, the packed room, indulged to Dionysian degrees unseen since, well, since the last Feastbound. Warm, tired, and absolutely filled with Chef Tara’s incredible four course menu, I also feel a similar warmth radiating from my heart. Brewmaster Dave assures me that this foreign feeling is joy, potentially love, and that it’s largely harmless.
Anyways, let’s get to it. For those of you keeping score, our Christmas Feastbound Dinner once again marks the official release of our annual collaboration with Sawdust City Brewing Co. This year, being our fifth iteration, marks a very mild departure from our established form of Christmas Ale. Introducing You Got Me Hummin’ for the Holidays, a (Christmas) Farmhouse Saison! Brewed with Escarpment Lab’s Jotunn, a hybrid yeast combining Kviek and Saison, You Got Me Hummin’ is loaded with notes of ripe melon, pear, and a subtle hint of honey against our favourite saison profile of pepper and spice. Hopped in the kettle, and later dry hopped with Most, berry blends in with a complimentary bump of spice. This amounts to a gently warm beer that celebrates a wide range of holiday flavours leaning only on the core four ingredients.
You Got Me Hummin’ for the Holidays is available on tap in the brewpub and in cans to-go in the Retail Store! Joining it on tap is Comfort Zone Hazy Session IPA and Houndstooth Irish Red Ale. It would seem like we’ve made up three quarters of a flight for you, why not come for a visit and fill that final spot?
